My big break

How I ended up an accountant isn't a mystery, but it is a riddle wrapped in credit card bills. I'm not entirely ill-suited for this profession. I was a lousy staff accountant, but I'm a kick ass Controller. I've had people at work tell me that watching me work a spreadsheet is amazing. I've got all the Excel merit badges, I can hit a forecast with uncanny accuracy and I'm leading a pretty sharp team. Having said all that, when I got this email from Schmap, I was crazy excited:

"Hi Lori,

I am writing to let you know that one of your photos has
been short-listed for inclusion in the fifth edition of our
Schmap Munich Guide, to be published at the end of this
month."

Sweet! I enjoy doing analytical number crunching ok, but I also want to see the world, be creative, wear dark glasses all the time, drink wine at breakfast and charge people ridiculous amounts of money for my work. Maybe I could be a photographer in my next life!

This is the photo they were talking about:

I'm puzzled about why they picked this photo. It's fine, but nothing special. Maybe the fact that I can't see why they'd want it makes me unqualified. But I am NOT too old to begin the training.

I just think they might have used one like this to capture the spirit better:
